The 1st China-Russia International Symposium on Science and Technology Held in Arkhangelsk, Russia

From June 25 to 26, 2024, the 1st China-Russia International Symposium on Science and Technology - Conference on Plant Fiber Raw Materials and Pulp & Paper Technology was held in Arkhangelsk, a northern city of Russia. The symposium was co-hosted by the China Technical Association of Paper Industry, Tianjin University of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, and Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov; co-organized by Inner Mongolia Yunchou Technology Co., Ltd., Henan Dazhi Pulp & Paper Equipment Integration Engineering Co., Ltd., Zhengzhou Yunda Pulp & Paper Equipment Co., Ltd., Solin Limited Liability Company, Global Chemistry Limited Liability Company, and PXC Limited Liability Company; and hosted by Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov.
As the first technical exchange event in the pulp and paper industry between China and Russia, the conference focused on discussions regarding the development of plant fiber raw materials, pulp and paper technology and related field technologies, advanced equipment, and testing instruments. Nearly 110 experts and scholars from universities, scientific research institutions, design units, pulp and paper enterprises, and equipment enterprises in the pulp and paper industry of China and Russia attended the conference. China sent a delegation of 34 people to participate. A delegation from our university, led by Liu Hongbin, Dean of the College of Light Industry Science and Engineering, and composed of Professor Liu Zhong, Professor Hui Lanfeng, and Dr. Ding Dayong (four people in total), attended the conference on behalf of the co-host, Tianjin University of Science and Technology.
At the opening ceremony, on behalf of Tianjin University of Science and Technology, Liu Hongbin signed a cooperation agreement with Northern (Arctic) Federal University, expressing the expectation for further cooperation between the two universities in student education, faculty visits, scientific research exchanges, and other aspects.
